Laurence Construction is proud to offer truly creative designs in our expertly crafted homes and communities. Since 1995, we have become well known for our high-end historic renovations of stately historic homes and apartment communities, and admired for our sensitivity to community concerns.
Laurence works hard to ensure that its projects fit into their surroundings and reflect its values of Freedom-Balance-Fun. Neighborhoods are better after we have completed a project in them. Our advisory panel includes a former planning commissioner and the former chair of the Maryland Main Street program of the Maryland Historic Trust.
Every project, large or small, is created by premier architects and exclusive designers such as RM Sovich, Joe Leatherman of Leatherman Design and Landscape Architect Tom Woolfolk. Laurence Construction represents the best in New Urban Design and is committed to the principles of Smart Growth and green architecture.

Laurence Construction
"As a teen I practiced designing houses. Some were grand, some were simple. All were meant to be perfect. All were meant to reflect my vision of Freedom, Balance and Fun. Since 1995, my work has embodied the belief that our built environment should reflect sensitivity to the natural environment and commitment to the principles of Smart Growth. Our current offerings are created by the best talent in Maryland. I hope you will make your home in one of ours." |

"I’ve always felt that nature is our touchstone - the thing that rejuvenates us. In today’s hectic life, we need that to restore our spirits. Even though a lot of people are moving back to the City now, to be near the schools, the shopping, the culture, they still want their own yard, their own piece of nature. My hope is that Ashman’s Hope will be a place where people can live quiet, satisfying lives, enjoying their houses, their yards, their neighbors, and the park close by." |

"Sensitive in-fill development such as represented by Ashman's Hope, is essential to maintaining the historic character of our neighborhoods while providing the modern amentities demanded by many of today's homebuyers."

Leatherman Design, Hampden, Baltimore
"Whether designing a restaurant, retail shop, home’s interior or a house from the ground up, I, as both a certified Interior Designer and Historic Preservation specialist, take a wide-ranging approach that considers issues such as context, landscape, and other physical conditions. The same factors are always at play: What to save, what to lose, how best to intergrate new with existing – all working together to create something that is balanced, proportioned, attractive, and visually interesting." |
